Josh + Sara…

Josh and Sara wanted their wedding weekend to be meaningful and something their friends and family would remember for a lifetime and that it was.   I met up with the happy couple just after they exchanged vows to document them on this very important day.  The ceremony location was breathtaking…a perfect spot to spend some quiet time together before venturing off to the dinner celebration.

Josh and Sara-  Thank you again for inviting me to capture such a significant event in your lives.  I wish you both the very best!

These two kiddos lost their dad to cancer a few years ago, but watching them interact with one another and listening to them talk reminded me of just how resilent kids can be.  Michael (what a great name for a girl, eh?!) is a senior at Henry-Sibley High school where she is a star softball player.  She is also passionate about photography so it was fun to “talk shop” and browse through her impressive portfolio she brought along.  Here’s to a great senior year Michael! And a special thanks to little Mr. R for hanging out with his big sis while she had her pictures taken. Enjoy!

High school senior season is still going strong here in the Twin Cities and thank goodness the weather is cooperating with us!  Meet Natalie, a Hudson High School senior, who although quiet and a teeny bit shy was an absolute natural in front of the camera.  She made my job so easy!  Thanks again Natalie and I hope you enjoy your senior year!

Something I’ve discovered in the past few months is that I am very much intrigued by fashion.  Not just by the colors and fashion trends, but the stories behind the clothes people wear.  The seniors I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year have had the best stories about the clothes they bring to their session.  For example, one client brought a pair of cowboy boots she bought for herself on her birthday at a quaint little store in Minneapolis, another brought her mom’s prom dress.  Kate, a Visitation High School senior, brought an adorable dress she picked up on a recent trip to Italy.  I fell in love with the dress right away…even more so when I heard where she was when she bought it!

Kate- I had such a great time working with you and chatting about our shared love of Jane Austen.  I wish you continued success in school and best wishes to you as narrow down your college choices!

Darcy + Kevin…

I was honored when Darcy, the uber-talented crafty gal behind Pretty Girl Designs, called to see if I might be available to photograph her wedding.  The event took place at her parents estate in northwestern Wisconsin with every detail carefully planned by Darcy and the team from Mimi Designs.   Kevin and Darcy’s wedding day exceeded all expectations and it was such a treat to be a part of such a delightful day.  Congratulations you guys!!

Darcy and the girls were a riot!

Such a beautiful bride…

and a very happy one too!

7 (count them…7) flowergirls!  And all soooo cute!

Then there is Henry, 1 lucky little ringbearer!

The ceremony took place outdoors with a beautiful view of the lake:

Come on, Kevin…work with me!  :)

There. Much better!

Time for the party…and what a party is was!
