2010 | Jamie Schultz Photography- baby, children, high school senior pictures, family photographer in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Twin Cities - Part 2

Built in the late 1800's, my studio is home to great history & memories. A childhood dream was realized when I opened my boutique style photography studio loft in this unique space filled with character. The space combined with our location in the quaint downtown area of Hudson, WI offers the capability for custom photography sessions indoors in addition to personalized on-location sites. My signature portrait style consists of simple,

yet strong composition resulting in images that are both honest and highly emotive. Foregoing stiff poses and forced smiles, I interact with subjects in such a way that unveils their distinct personalities. This approach combined with exquisite attention to detail provides for a comfortable and relaxed photo session and extraordinary images.

Studio Project…

I just love that I build relationships with my clients that often go beyond photography.  Sometimes clients ask for my assistance in pulling together birthday parties, arranging venue details, or even creating invitations to events.  One of my favorite pastimes is playing with all things paper!  Making innovative invitations is a great way for me to spend time doing something I thoroughly enjoy.  The following invitation was created for clients who hosted an event in celebration of a fundraising effort in which they participated.  The fundraiser was a huge success so I think it’s fair to say they deserved a party…and I have a feeling a fun time was had by all!  Here’s hoping the Movember Event makes it into the Guinness Book of World Records!  Good luck guys…GO WILD!

Home, Sweet, Home…

Abby was recently welcomed home by her very loving parents who waited quite some time for her arrival.  Having spent time with her, I can safely say it was well worth the wait.  Abby is such a sweet little girl with personality galore.  Her parents are doing an amazing job with her…she’s one very lucky little girl.  Welcome home, Abby!  I loved working with you.

High School Senior.

What a senior year Emma is having!  She is very involved with school activities PLUS she has a new role as big sister to two beautiful twin girls her parents recently adopted from Africa.  Her little sisters are so lucky to have Emma as a big sis!  She is incredibly kind, caring and thoughtful…such wonderful traits!  It was an absolute joy to photograph her and I’m looking forward to capturing images of her family in the near future.

‘Tis the Season…

This time of year my blog entries slow down a bit, but I promise it’s for good reason.    We’ve been hard at work pulling everything together and the studio is starting to overflow with orders ready to ship.  I’m so very excited for my clients to receive their goodies!  Seeing the final results of projects I’ve been working on for a while is truly one of my favorite parts of this job.

Children, Family.

Growing, growing, growing…

I’ve been working with this beautiful family ever since Nick and Jess were expecting their first baby.  It’s crazy to come back year after year and see how much the kids have changed.   The oldest boy really made my day when I walked in the door and he ran over and nearly tackled me with the a great big hug for “Miss Jamie”.  He then proceeded to take me around the house to show me all the presents he received for his third birthday…loved it!  I was excited to hear that another little bambino will be joining the family in the near future (yes, you read that right…she’s expecting her 3rd baby and BARELY showing).  Congrats again, Nick and Jessica!

Children, Family.

It is always such an honor when fellow photographers commission me to capture their own family portraits.  The uber talented, Beau Petersen, contacted me several months ago to arrange a surprise anniversary gift for his beautiful wife of 10 years and I was thrilled to be a part of it all.  Bethany has exquisite taste and a great sense of style so I was very excited to work with her and her family.  I loved that Beau and Bethany gave me free reign over the entire session and let me run with creative vision.  It was an absolute joy to work with their family and Bethany’s reaction to the images was priceless.  What a great way to celebrate 10 years of marriage…thanks again, you guys, for trusting me to capture this special time in your life.

So sleepy…

This sweet little guy was such a champ during his session.  He arrived sleeping and remained sleeping throughout the entire shoot.  At one point he squirmed, flashed a little smile at me, and settled right back into a restful slumber…it doesn’t get much better than that!  Welcome to the world, little man!!

Fall can go one of two ways here in Wisconsin…it’s either bitterly cold and gloomy or beautiful and sunny.  Thankfully, this year has been the latter and I’m enjoying every minute of it!  Kaitlyn’s session took place on one of these beautiful Fall days.  As you can see, she is an absolute beauty and the light, colors, and temperatures couldn’t have been better.  We had a wonderful time wandering around during her session and chatting with her reminded me of just how much I love what I do.  Kaitlyn, I wish you the very best as you finish out your senior year!

Studio News.

When I started my photography businesses five years ago I had a lot of ambition and big dreams for where my business might take me.   Opening my studio was a dream realized and the relationships I’ve built with my clients are invaluable.  I’m honored by the response to my work and to my studio…to the point that I often have to pinch myself to make sure it’s all real!  A few months ago I was contacted by MpixPRO, a Miller’s Professional Imaging company, about being featured in their Fall ad campaign.  It didn’t hit me until the magazines arrived in the mail and I could see the ad in print.  This is such a surreal moment for me and I would really like to take a moment to thank my wonderful clients who have allowed me the opportunity to work doing something I am so very passionate about.  You are all the best!  Many thanks!

Busy season…

It’s around this time every year that my schedule hovers somewhere around insane.  My to-do list often feels overwhelming, but this year I’ve vowed not to let it get the best of me.  As I was editing the following session I had to laugh because this little guy’s antics pretty much summarizes my attitude about how I plan to get through the next few weeks.  I’m going to tackle each and every day as it comes (no matter how long and tedious the to-do list might be) and hopefully have a few laughs along the way.  Happy Fall!!
