Nora…
What an unbelievable spring we’ve had so far this year. Between the snow, cold & rain one might not even realize it’s spring at all here in the north woods! When Nora, a Mounds View High School senior, arrived for her session it was gloomy and rainy outside and it was snowing earlier in the day. Needless to say, I didn’t have much hope for the outdoor portion of the shoot. We went outside armed with an umbrella and coats and wouldn’t you know…about 6 frames into the outdoor session the clouds parted and out came the sun! Nora and I were giddy with excitement to see the sunshine and had such a great time walking around downtown. It turned out to be a beautiful evening for a photo session. This is my first outdoor senior session of the season and I’m so very happy that it didn’t take place in the snow as I imagined it would. Nora is off to study nursing at UW-Madison next fall. Congrats, Nora and best wishes to you in the future!

Fantastic session Jamie!
Absolutely gorgeous – Nora and your images! So glad the weather cooperated for you that day!
Lordy, that last image is just stunning. These are wonderful, Jamie.
Hi Jamie
I live in Melbourne, Australia and have stumbled across your blog as part of my ongoing research/self study into photography. When you have no money and no time … late at night on the internet is how I learn and get inspired! lol
I hope this doesnt sound creepy but when I read your blog I just felt this strange parallel and connection with you.
Im a single mum to 23 mth old twins, have a positive psychology focus also and try to use my photography/art for something bigger than me. I am just winding up a month long project of taking photos of children (with all proceeds going to the local hospital’s childrens wing). That said I am only an amateur photographer and my work is nowhere near your standard! If you are on facebook the project page was titled “The Good Work Project.
So this is a very long winded email – with no particular point – just to say hi. It felt nice to find a kindred spirit across the seas.
I love your work. How you get those brilliant photos with inside light is amazing to me! Welldone.
