That’s a wrap…

My last project for 2008 was the spring ad campaign for La Rue Marche and Tamara Jewelry which is slated to appear in fashion magazines including Lucky, Vogue and Allure.  What an exciting project to be involved with!  The clothing and jewelry were a perfect match for the ecclectic assortment of goodies I have stashed in my studio.  On top of that I was working with a beautiful model who made my job so incredibly easy.  What a great way to end 2008!

Daddy’s Boy…

This little dude was not at all sure what to think of having his picture taken.  I was trying every trick I could think of  but still, he seemed the least bit interested in me or my camera.  In walks his dad and says the words, “Daddy shoots and he SCORES!” and there was nothing but giggles.  Not just a little giggle either!  It worked not once, but twice, and again and again and again… I got the biggest kick out of how quickly his mood changed with those simple words.  Something tells me he is daddy’s little boy and he’s so very proud of it!  His big sister was a doll and loved having the camera all to herself.  Thanks again for coming out to the studio you guys!

“Daddy shoots and he SCORES!!”  (There were actions that went with it!)

Mommy Talk…

There are so many things about my job that I love, but the opportunities I have to connect with other moms ranks up near the top of the list.  Everytime we get together Jessica and I always have so much to talk about…especially when it comes to “mommyhood”.  Our parenting styles are so similar which makes it  fun to chat and share a few laughs about our experiences as moms.  Thanks again, you guys, for inviting me out to photograph your beautiful family.  I enjoyed seeing your new place…it’s absolutely gorgeous!

Alex and Adelae…

Not only are these two kiddos gorgeous, but don’t they have great names too?!  These siblings came to the studio to get a few new shots for their portfolios and I couldn’t believe how natural they were in front of the camera.  We called it a wrap in no time at all which was probably a good thing with how cold we were outside.  I wish you both the best with your ventures and I’ll see you again in a few weeks!

Oh, boy(s)!

When Katina called to book a session for her family she explained that they had two busy boys and wasn’t sure how well they would sit for pictures.  I had to chuckle because “busy boys” is the exact phrase I use to describe my two boys.  We approached the session with high hopes, but as moms of boys we were both willing to take what we could get.  Luckily, neither of the boys seemed one bit bothered with the prospect of having their pictures taken.  In fact, one of them (hint: the taller of the two) couldn’t seem to get enough…what a ham!

Alex…

Meet Alex, a 2009 Hudson High School senior.   She arrived at the studio with her sister, a friend, and a smile from ear to ear.   We had a great time and I have to admit…it was kinda’ nice working with an audience.  They helped Alex and I forget all about the frigid temps and kept us giggling through most of the session.

Welcome, little one…

In the hustle and bustle of this busy season I have to admit that it’s refreshing to work with these little ones who have no real sense of urgency (unless they are hungry, of course).  This beautiful baby girl spent the entire session in what appeared to be a very blissful sleep.  Congratulations on the newest addition to your family you guys!

Tradition…

Around this time every year my calendar is filled with quite a few family sessions.  So many of the sessions are with clients whom I have worked with in previous years and our Fall sessions have turned into somewhat of a family tradition.  I have worked with this particular family on several occassions and in the proccess I have established quite a friendship with the oldest boy.  I love that he remembers me and is always so eager to share the latest happenings.  As you can see from the last picture in this post I’m still working on his little brother.  I think he’ll come around though.  Ha!

Molly + Nathan: Married…

Some of you may remember Molly and Nathan from their engagment session I posted earlier this year. I traveled back to Iowa for their wedding day and what a day it was! Molly and Nathan braved the elements to wander around the breathtaking venue for some photo opps. We started with a hike through the woods where we stumbled across an old hunting shack which served as a perfect spot for pictures. Molly’s dad also brought the truck we used for their engagement session to the property *just in case* we wanted to use it again. How could I resist? But my favorite part of the day was Molly being transported to the wedding ceremony on a beautiful horse drawn carriage. It was truly a sight to be seen. Thanks again Molly and Nathan for allowing me to be a part of your special day. Best wishes!

“A Little Bit Country…”

…and a little bit rock-n-roll.  That pretty much sums up this session with Kerstin, a beautiful Hudson High School senior.  Her gorgeous red hair combined with her awesome sense of style made for a very fun photo session.  After a few shots around town we headed out to her farm where I got to meet her horse and watch the two of them in action.  I have to give credit to Kerstin for toughing it out in the COLD weather in her sundress…she was a champ to say the least!
