Built in the late 1800's, my studio is home to great history & memories. A childhood dream was realized when I opened my boutique style photography studio loft in this unique space filled with character. The space combined with our location in the quaint downtown area of Hudson, WI offers the capability for custom photography sessions indoors in addition to personalized on-location sites. My signature portrait style consists of simple,

yet strong composition resulting in images that are both honest and highly emotive. Foregoing stiff poses and forced smiles, I interact with subjects in such a way that unveils their distinct personalities. This approach combined with exquisite attention to detail provides for a comfortable and relaxed photo session and extraordinary images.

Welcome…

This little man was recently welcomed home by his loving parents and big brother.  He arrived at the studio wide awake and ready to play, but once he fell asleep he was out like a light.  I couldn’t get over his head full of hair…how cute is that?!  Janice, thank you so much for bringing him to the studio for his first portrait session.  You guys were so great to work with!

Welcome, little one…

The past few months I’ve been hard at work photographing a lot of high school seniors so to have a little baby arrive in the midst of “senior season” was a nice change of pace.  This beautiful baby boy slept soundly almost the entire time I was there which made my job pretty easy.  His big sister was there to lend a helping hand throughout the shoot and what a good helper she was!  She is so proud of her new title and could hardly wait to have her picture taken with him.  Here are just a few of the pictures from the session:

California Bound

Well, well, well…what an adventure this little man has been on for the past few months.  It all started when he decided to try to come into the world at only 27 weeks.  With a lot of determination and some wonderful care from the hospital staff his mom was able to carry him nearly full-term (not an easy task when you have a 12 month old at home).   While he arrived safely and was able to go home with his parents, he was admitted to the NICU just a few short days later for jaundice and a few other health scares.  As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one family they learned during the NICU stay that their family would be moving to San Jose, California in just a few short weeks for his dad’s job!  When I arrived for his first photo session my heart immediately went out to his mom as I tried to imagine what it must be like to have 13 month old, a newborn and the task of packing up and moving my family across the country in a matter of weeks.  She had such an amazing attitude about the entire situation and expressed over and over again that they were just grateful to have two healthy kids no matter where it is they call home…what a great perspective!

This little champ was such a trooper throughout the session.  Despite all the happenings going on around him he settled in and let me do my thing while he caught some rest.  His dad’s gloves from his new team arrived the day of the session and he wanted nothing more than to break them in by holding his son in them…something tells me this little guy is going to be daddy’s boy!

I’m sad to see this family go, but I know they are going to love California!

Welcome, Sydney…

Something I never anticipated when I started my photography business is how much joy it would bring me to watch kids grow up in front of my lens.  That has certainly been the case with this beautiful family I’ve been photographing over the past four years.  It’s been such a treat to watch the kids grow and develop their unique personalities with each and every session.  Their family just expanded with the addition of baby Sydney and I loved having the chance to photograph her for the very first time.  I’m looking forward to getting to know her just as I’ve gotten to know her adorable siblings.  Congrats again, Nick and Jessica!

A special thank you to Paislee Lane for some of the adorable headbands used in this shoot!

Happy New Year…

What a year it has been here at Jamie Schultz Photography!   I want to take a moment to express a sincere thank you to my clients who have entrusted me to capture their families throughout the year.  It is truly an honor to work with each and every one of you.  From all of us at Jamie Schultz Photography we wish you the very best in the coming year.

Below are a few holiday projects that left our studio over the past few weeks…oh, what fun we had pulling these together!

So sleepy…

This sweet little guy was such a champ during his session.  He arrived sleeping and remained sleeping throughout the entire shoot.  At one point he squirmed, flashed a little smile at me, and settled right back into a restful slumber…it doesn’t get much better than that!  Welcome to the world, little man!!

Little Leo…

In the past few weeks I’ve been blessed to photograph quite a few babies including this adorable little guy…Leo.  It is always such a treat to photograph these tiny bundles and I love having the opportunity to chat with the mama’s during the session.  When I found out how quickly Leo entered the world I felt an immediate bond with his mom.  She and I shared a few laughs about our experiences and little Leo slept all the while.  He was such a good baby and he really made my job quite easy.  Welcome to the world, little man!

Lucky little one…

This beautiful baby girl was born into one of the most loving and generous families I know.  You see, before her parents had children of their own they opened their hearts and home to a young man in need.  A few years went by and they came across yet another boy who needed mentoring and a place to call home.  Eventually both boys came to call them mom and dad, but the compassion didn’t end there.  Since then they have taken two additional boys under their wings.  If you’re doing the math…that is FOUR young men this special couple have cared for and provided guidance the boys were so desperately looking for.  If any of you have seen the movie “Blind Side” imagine that family times 4!  In the past five years this beautiful couple has been blessed with three biological children of their own…the newest addition arrived just a few weeks ago. ( Just in time for one of the boys’ high school graduation party!)  Even though the older boys are grown and off to college they are oh, so proud of their three little siblings and love coming home to visit.  This family is quite an inspiration to say the very least!

And baby makes three…

I posted the first series of images from my first session with this smiley princess last week, but had to share a few from our second session where we focused on the family and daddy/baby photos.  This little peanut slept, yet again, throughout the entire session.  (I could get used to babies like her!!)  It was so cute watching her dad swoon all over her…you can tell he is in heaven with his two beautiful girls at home!  Congratulations again, Brent and Susan.

Smile…

This little princess was joyfully welcomed home just a few weeks ago by her loving family and what a good baby she is!  She slept through the entire session including multiple outfit changes…such a trooper!  I started the session with some classic, simple shots and then moved onto some of her pink, frilly outfits.  No sooner did I get her in a pink blanket and bow than she flashed the biggest grin I’ve ever seen on a baby her size.  Something tells me she might just be a girly-girl!  Brent and Suz…thanks again for having me out to photograph your beautiful baby girl.  Congratulations!
