Built in the late 1800's, my studio is home to great history & memories. A childhood dream was realized when I opened my boutique style photography studio loft in this unique space filled with character. The space combined with our location in the quaint downtown area of Hudson, WI offers the capability for custom photography sessions indoors in addition to personalized on-location sites. My signature portrait style consists of simple,

yet strong composition resulting in images that are both honest and highly emotive. Foregoing stiff poses and forced smiles, I interact with subjects in such a way that unveils their distinct personalities. This approach combined with exquisite attention to detail provides for a comfortable and relaxed photo session and extraordinary images.

Sheer Addiction…

My obsession with Sheer Addiction jewelry (formerly Tamara Lines) began several years ago when I received one of her pieces as a gift from my husband.  Since then, I have become slightly addicted (no pun intended) to her jewelry and have built up quite the collection over the years.  You can imagine my delight when Tamara called to commission me for a big commercial project she is working on.  We have only just begun the process, but already I am having the time of my life working on this assignment.  Tamara, thank you again for selecting me to work on this project with you.  Your new web-site and products are amazing as always!

Lisa…

Recently I had the opportunity to collaborate with Lisa, owner of La Rue Marche, on an upcoming project.  We decided to capture some promotional shots “just in case” and oh, what fun we had!  Not only is Lisa incredibly talented with fashion styling and store design, but she is beautiful to boot.  If you are in the Twin Cities area or plan to visit the area and love all things “fashion”…you simply have to make the trip to her store.

Dream, realized…

When I was in Jr. High and High School I spent countless hours tearing pictures out of magazines.  There was very little rhyme or reason to my hobby…all I know is that my closet doors and much of one wall in my room were filled with tear sheets from a variety of fashion magazines.  It has always been a dream of mine to have one of my images land in a fashion magazine and last month this dream was realized when an image I took for the spring ad campaign for La Rue Marche and Tamara Lines appeared in the Twin Cities editions of Lucky, Vogue and Allure.  It was such an exciting opportunity and I was thrilled to be involved with the project.

Las Vegas…

Myy poor blog has been slightly neglected lately as I prepare for a trip to WPPI in Las Vegas.  This is always a highly anticipated trip for me as it’s an opportunity for me to meet-up with some of my photographer friends from around the world and I get to scope out the very best products all of you have come to expect.  The studio will be closed next week so all phone calls and e-mails will be answered when I return.   If you’re a photographer planning to attend the convention please stop by and visit me at the Mpix booth.  I’ll be speaking there at 11:30am on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  I’d love it if you would stop by and say Hi!

That’s a wrap | Minneapolis, Minnesota fashion photography

My last project for 2008 was the spring ad campaign for La Rue Marche and Tamara Jewelry which is slated to appear in fashion magazines including Lucky, Vogue and Allure.  What an exciting project to be involved with!  The clothing and jewelry were a perfect match for the ecclectic assortment of goodies I have stashed in my studio.  On top of that I was working with a beautiful model who made my job so incredibly easy.  What a great way to end 2008!

‘Tis the season… | Hudson, Wisconsin children’s photographer

Around this time every year my blog entries slow down significantly which is in such sharp contrast to what is going on behind the scenes.  This transition from summer to fall brings such a beautiful mix of colors and ideal temperatures making it the perfect picture taking season.  It is also the time of year when clients start thinking about their holiday cards.  Here is just a small sample of some of the card designs available this season.  Regular blog posts will return in the very near future…stay tuned!!

Paper Goodness | Minneapolis, Minnesota Children’s Photography

What an honor it is when clients entrust me with designing and creating pieces to announce special events in their lives.  This particular client wanted a custom birth announcement showcasing a few of the images from our newborn session and oh, the fun I had working on it!

New Year, New Look, New Site

Well…it’s a new year and what better time to launch a few new elements of my business.  I’d first like to unveil my new “look”.  With the opening of The Loft in beautiful downtown Hudson, Wisconsin in the past year I had very little time to devote to my web-site.  The new logo allowed me an opportunity to tap into my love for graphic design to create something I feel reflects my photographic style.

Shop Girl…

Anyone who knows me will tell you that the shoot I’m about to showcase was right up my alley.  Lots of fun clothes, a beautiful boutique, a beautiful subject…who could ask for anything more?!  Miss Lindsey lives and works in L.A. and was in need of a few shots for her portfolio.  Needless to say, we ended up with more than a few shots, but I simply couldn’t resist.  Best wishes to you on your upcoming ventures Lindsey!  .
