Here’s looking at you, kid…

There are those who simply delight being in front of the camera.  This little girl is one of them!  She stepped up on her “stage” and put on the performance of a lifetime.  Take a look at how she responded when her brother wanted in on the action.  (See 4th image)  Ha!  Could she be an Academy Award-winning actress in the making?!  You tell me.

Belly Laugh | Hudson, Wisconsin children’s photographer

Some of you might remember this little girl from a family session I posted last fall.   Well…she just celebrated her birthday so we met again to document her at the busy age of 3.   It was raining and freezing cold that day so we ended up at the loft where she made herself right at home.  Throughout most of the session she kept looking over at the bag her mom brought along as though there might be something very important hidden within.  After a while, I asked her what was in there and without missing a beat she ran over to the bag and pulled out a hat.  She sat down, put on her hat and broke out into an honest to goodness belly laugh.  She was so excited about her little green hat.  So fun!

Mr. Sunshine…

I think the title says it all doesn’t it?  This little guy was a pocketful of sunshine through the entire session.  He was full of smiles, giggles, and squeals as though he had never had such fun.  It seems this lil’ guy is a.o.k. with having his picture taken!

Baby, It’s Cold Outside…

Mike and Melissa are preparing for what is sure to be a beautiful wedding in June.  We decided to do a winter-themed engagement session and oh, what fun we had despite the frigid temps.  You guys were so much fun to work with…I can hardly wait for your big day!

Christmas Wishes

The Loft | Hudson, Wisconsin portrait studio

After months and months of planning, gathering & creating, I am very proud to announce the official opening of “The Loft”, a boutique-style photography studio, located in historic downtown Hudson Wisconsin.  This space does NOT mean I will be giving up on-location photography in the Minneapolis area.  It simply allows me an opportunity to shoot indoors if needed and it also gives me a spot to meet with clients.  I am very excited about this new venture and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you who have sent notes of congratulations.

Little Miss “G”…I think she is what some might refer to as an “old soul”.   An inquisitive little girl with just the right dose of charm!  She and I had a splendid time sharing stories with one another and what an honor it was when she offered to share her snack with me!

Teeny-tiny…

This little peanut is the son of the uber-talented, Tricia Christiansen, the brains behind Christiansen Creative located here in Hudson, Wisconsin.  Even though I loved chatting with Tricia, I’d have to say that one of the best parts of this session was seeing just how smitten Dad was with his newborn son.

Little Dude… | Hudson, Wisconsin child and family photographer

One of the best parts of my job is hearing the amazing stories behind each of my subjects.  I’m a “talker” by nature so it’s no wonder I learn so much about the people I photograph during the session.  This little dude had quite a story…he made a very early entrance into this world and just one year later it appears as though he’s beaten the odds that were stacked against him as a preemie.  Now he is a healthy, happy, and curious little boy who I’m sure will keep mom and dad on their toes! Thanks again you guys for traveling in to see me!

Fall…

‘Tis the busiest time of the year that’s for sure and it’s no wonder with the beautiful fall colors.  I haven’t had a chance to update my blog as much as I would like, but I hope to be back with regular posts just as soon as things slow down here a bit.  Happy Fall!
