Dana…

We’ve had quite the weather pattern this year in the Minneapolis metro.  Last winter seemed to drag on forever and this summer has been relatively cool.  Luckily, we had a “heat wave” with high’s in the mid to upper 80’s for a few weeks in August and was it ever a welcome change of pace?!  Dana’s session took place on one of those days and I was thrilled to finally have an opportunity to shoot without worrying about my subject getting too cold!  Dana and I had a great time working together and comparing notes on our favorite spots in and around her home turf in South Minneapolis including Chatterbox Pub.  Note: If you are in the Minneapolis area I would highly recommend “Chatterbox Pub” (80’s inspired restaurant complete with Atari games, Boggle, and any other 80’s board game you can think of) and the food is DE-lish!  Anyway, here are a few images from  my session with Dana!  As you can see, she is absolutely beautiful…both inside and out!

Krissy… | Minneapolis Senior Photographer

It’s been nearly two years since I opened The Loft and what a fun and exciting journey it has been.   One of my very first clients to have photos taken in my new space was the older sister of Krissy, a beautiful 2010 senior.  Krissy has been looking forward to this experience for quite a while and I loved her enthusiasm throughout the session.  We had a riot working together and I loved her mom’s reaction to the images.  I love my job!

Sadelle… | Minneapolis high school senior photographer

It’s late August which means we are smack dab in the middle of senior season…one of my favorite times of the year!  Working with seniors reminds me of just how much I loved my job as a high school teacher.  This years’ seniors have been especially enjoyable including this beautiful girl, Sadelle, who was excited to kick off the start of her senior year with this photo session.  A special thanks to Mike who so kindly let us use his ‘55 Olds for a few frames!

Will dance for candy…

I’ve been photographing this beautiful little girl for four years now and I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed working with her over the years.  She was so excited about her 4th birthday that I knew I had to plan something very special for her visit.  When they arrived for the session she wanted to be sure I understood that her outfit of choice for the day was her tutu.  Reluctantly, she obliged her mother and wore a regular skirt and tee for a few frames but was more than ready to dive into her princess costume after that!  What luck, as my special plans for her included a trip to the candy store!  A girl in a tutu in a candy store…what fun?!!  When we arrived at the candy store she asked if she could pick out some candy to take home.  “Of course!” I said.  No sooner did I turn to look for a basket and she started dancing around the store.  She was one happy (and adorable) little girl buzzing around the candy store in her tutu!

Let the games begin…

Tyler, a Stillwater High School senior, came to the studio for his senior pictures a few weeks ago marking the official start to my high school senior season.  If you’ve had a chance to peek through my blog you probably already know that this is something I look forward to each and every year.  I love the opportunity I have to connect with high school students at such an exciting time in their lives.  Tyler has big plans after high school and I have no doubt he will succeed in everything he does.   Best wishes to you, Tyler!

All smiles…

I’ve met quite a few babies in my lifetime but I’m not sure I’ve ever met one who is as smiley as this little man.  He was all smiles when I first met him a few months ago and this time was no different.  It seemed that every time I picked up my camera he smiled even when he was sleeping.  What a ham, eh?!  And you simply HAVE to see the Christening gown his mom made…it is truly a work of art.  His bedroom is still under construction but I have to tell you that I cannot wait to see the room completed!  Such a lucky little boy!

New beginnings | Hudson, Wisconsin photography studio

It seems fitting to start out the new year with a blog entry showcasing a beautiful newborn baby so here it goes!  This sleepy bundle of joy was welcomed home by his parents and two very loving (and absolutely adorable) sisters.  I’ve been photographing this family for a little over two years now and it has been such an amazing experience to watch their family grow.  Congratulations again you guys…I’m so happy for you!

Little miss Amelia is accustomed to being the star of the show when I come over and she put on quite the show to ensure she was granted adequate time in the spotlight.

Daddy’s Boy…

This little dude was not at all sure what to think of having his picture taken.  I was trying every trick I could think of  but still, he seemed the least bit interested in me or my camera.  In walks his dad and says the words, “Daddy shoots and he SCORES!” and there was nothing but giggles.  Not just a little giggle either!  It worked not once, but twice, and again and again and again… I got the biggest kick out of how quickly his mood changed with those simple words.  Something tells me he is daddy’s little boy and he’s so very proud of it!  His big sister was a doll and loved having the camera all to herself.  Thanks again for coming out to the studio you guys!

“Daddy shoots and he SCORES!!”  (There were actions that went with it!)

Alex and Adelae…

Not only are these two kiddos gorgeous, but don’t they have great names too?!  These siblings came to the studio to get a few new shots for their portfolios and I couldn’t believe how natural they were in front of the camera.  We called it a wrap in no time at all which was probably a good thing with how cold we were outside.  I wish you both the best with your ventures and I’ll see you again in a few weeks!

“A Little Bit Country…”

…and a little bit rock-n-roll.  That pretty much sums up this session with Kerstin, a beautiful Hudson High School senior.  Her gorgeous red hair combined with her awesome sense of style made for a very fun photo session.  After a few shots around town we headed out to her farm where I got to meet her horse and watch the two of them in action.  I have to give credit to Kerstin for toughing it out in the COLD weather in her sundress…she was a champ to say the least!
